Background & Aims A better identification of factors predicting death is needed in alcoholic
hepatitis (AH). Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) occurs during the course of liver disease
and can be identified when AH is diagnosed (prevalent ACLF [pACLF]) or during follow-up
